Alvin Police Department
Citizens Patrol APD Citizens Patrol Program Fox News Video
The Citizen’s Patrol Unit will
assist Alvin Police Department with crime prevention
patrols, motorist assistance, wrecker stand-by, traffic
control, close patrols and handicapped parking enforcement.
Our mission is to act as a force multiplier for the city’s
police officers. We assist them with non-enforcement
activities so that they are available to answer more calls.
We will also act as a deterrent to crime by conducting highly visible
patrols.
Applicants for the Citizen’s Patrol Unit must first have
completed the Citizen’s Police Academy before applying to
the Citizen’s Patrol Unit. We generally have a Citizen’s
Police Academy in the fall that lasts for 12 weeks and will
start a Citizen’s Patrol Unit class in mid January that will
consist of 10 weeks in the class room and 6 weeks
“O.J.T.” with graduation some time in May.
Class sizes for the CPU are limited to 10 applicants and
you must attend all classes and O.J.T.
in order to qualify for graduation.
Anyone interested in the Citizen’s Police Academy or the
Citizen’s Patrol program should contact either Ruben Solano for
